Year 2005

February 2005:

First visit of 2 Germans in the slum "Papagaio". They socialize right away with Paulo, one of the GAC founders. The two day-care centers are visited and the possibilities of support from Germany are discussed. The first impression of this great deal of discussion is introduced to a internet forum for friends of Brasil.

23. March 2005:

They open a bank account in Germany in favour of GAC and originate a found raising campain by internet. First photos of the children (with authorization of the parents) are published und make the godparenthood possible.

May, 18 2005:

The first steps are done! Until today, 2 permanent donators are registered and after all 7 godparenthoods are arranged already.

September 2005:

There is no substancial progress to note down. Matthias decides to start active advertising and to raise the appropriate funds. A time-consuming process begins.

End of September 2005:

The small group of GAC donators decides to do their first investment at GAC with the saved money. At the price of 185 Euros they acquire two used Pentium III computer including monitor and desks and donate them to the group of the 7 to 14-years old children at GAC. The main aim of this donation is to make the group more attractive for the "bigger boys" after particularly in this group a losss was observed again and again. But exactly this age group is more in risk in our opinion.

End of October 2005:

A small group of the "Brazil friends" creates a GAC-Flyer and a 25-page-brochure. Also with the help of the Brazil Friends the brochure is translated to English and Portuguese. In principle only one thing is missing now ......

November 2005:

Exactly ...... the representation of GAC in the internet. This was done with www.kinderhorizonte.org .

At the same time with the release of our brand new GAC home page, we registered 7 new godparents in this month! Hope grows againt. Now we have 14 godchildren - 170 are still remaining!

December 2005:

The next step for us is founding a non-profit organization, that represents GAC´s interest in Germany. Activities for this undertaking are in full swing.
